Herschel Largent

Formerly of Portage Age 91, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019 in Higgins Lake. Herschel was born on March 10, 1928 in Nelsonville, OH, the son of Ralph and Nellie (Nostein) Largent. On October 20, 1950, he married Barbara Ann Weaver who survives him. Herschel proudly served his country in the United States Army. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Kathy and Gary, David and Jenny, Doug; a daughter in law, Pam; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Hazel; brother, Herman. He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 siblings, Hobie, Herbert, Helen, Harry and Harold; a son, Dan; and two infant great-granddaughters. Funeral services will be held on Friday, at 1:00 p.m. at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home, 917 S. Burdick St. with Pastor Jim Dyke officiating. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be in South Portage Cemetery.
