DeVisser, Henry Henry DeVisser, age 92, went home to be with his Lord on November 18, 2016. He was born November 23, 1923 in Kalamazoo, the son of Josiah and Kathalina (VanGemert) DeVisser and was a lifelong resident. Henry served in the U.S. Army during WW II. For 40 years he was employed as a plumber with C.L. Mahoney Company prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Covenant United Reformed Church. On October 14, 1949 he was united in marriage to Agnes (DeRooy) DeVisser, who survives. Also surviving are their children and grandchildren Ruth (Jim) Bacon with David, Michael (Rebecca); Jim (Dianna) DeVisser with Dawn, Kim (Mark), Aaron (Sally); Joyce (Chuck) VanLaar with Matt, Greg; Kathy (Keith) Hurst with Brian (Jessica), Janelle; Paul (Chris) DeVisser with Cara (David), Kelly, Ashley (Steve), Elyse (Bob); Tom (Marge) DeVisser with Morgan, Jared; Deb (Bob) Withee with John, Josh (Karli); Mark (Sue) DeVisser with Brendin, Aubree, Taylor; 24 great-grandchildren; in-laws Herb (Martha) Reynolds, Sylvia DeRooy; many nieces and nephews. Dearly loved and gone to Heaven before him were his parents; his siblings Adrian DeVisser, Dena (Chris) Beeke, Marie (Joe) Kiewiet, Abe (Jess) DeVisser. The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 22nd at the Covenant United Reformed Church (3724 Lovers Lane) with Rev. Phil Vos officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00PM on Monday, November 21st at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street; and at the church from 10:00 to 11:00AM on Tuesday. A private family interment will be in Portage South Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Henry's memory may be directed to the Covenant United Reformed Church or the Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary.
