Heloise Bunting

Heloise Ann (Messenger) Bunting of Comstock, MI passed away on Monday morning, May 8, 2017 at Plainwell Pines Nursing & Rehabilitation Community in Plainwell, MI. Mrs. Heloise Bunting was born March 9, 1925 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Ted and Dorothy (Aiken) Brackney. She moved to Galesburg, MI in 1933, becoming a resident of Comstock, MI in 1960. Mrs. Bunting was employed in the secretarial field for the Friend of the Court of Kalamazoo County and later for the United Food & Commercial Workers, Local #36 until her retirement in 1983. On May 4, 1960 she married Harold Allen Bunting, who preceded her in death in 2005. Surviving are her sons: Michael R. Messenger (Patricia) of Galesburg ; John W. Messenger (Judith) of Three Rivers; James W Messenger of Comstock; 5 grandchildren: Michael, Michelle, Jason, Joel, and Jessica; 5 great-granddaughters: Kayla, Carly, Riley, Mia and Sophia; 1 great-grandson Jackson; 2 special sister-in-laws; Kay Decker of Portage and Mary Bunting of Traverse City; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Francis W. Messenger in 1956, her parents and her brother, James R. Brackney in 1992. Services will be held at 1 o'clock Friday (May 12) at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 West Battle Creek St., Galesburg, MI. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. A time of fellowship and a luncheon will be held at Julianna's Restaurant, 2105 Lake Street, Kalamazoo, MI following the grave side service.
