Helen Watson

Watson, Helen, L. Kannapolis, NC formerly of Parchment Passed away Friday December 22, 2017 at Caremoor Retirement Center, Kannapolis, NC. Helen was born November 15, 1922 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Arthur and Anna (Newland) Barnes. She retired from the office at KVP- James River Paper Company, and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she was active in the Ladies Sodality Sacristan. Helen enjoyed golfing and sewing. On March 16, 1946 in Kalamazoo, Helen was united in marriage to Fieldon "Bill" Watson who preceded her in death on February 15, 2003. Also preceding her in death are two brothers, Arthur and William Barnes; three sisters, Dorothy Barnes, Barbara Wordan, Marion Danger. Surviving are her son David (Jamie) Watson of Kalamazoo; daughter, Carol (James) Nemechek of Avon Park, FL; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. Services will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
