Bosier, Helen Louise (Cogswell) Richland Helen, age 95, died peacefully in her home, Monday, August 1, 2016. Helen, the daughter of Frank Daniel and Helen Josephine (Noeldner) Cogswell, was born in Kalamazoo, MI on June 7, 1921; was a lifetime area resident and a 1939 graduate of St. Augustine (Kalamazoo) High School. She had been employed at Upjohn Company for a number of years until they started their family. Helen was a longtime member of St. Ann Catholic Church of Gull Lake. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, word games, painting and traveling; but her priorities in life were God, prayer and her family. She was thrilled with the news of each grandchild and great grandchild and took an interest in everything they did. She loved people and was a good listener, very understanding and encouraging. She could put a positive spin on any situation. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was quick-witted right up to the end. Helen was united in marriage to John W. Bosier on December 28, 1946 in St. Augustine Cathedral and he sadly preceded her in death on April 3, 2012. Also preceding Helen in death were her son, Joseph M. Bosier on April 24, 2012; her daughter-in-law, Linda K Bosier on April 8, 2012; a great grandson, Ryland Hinkle on September 16, 2013; her parents; four sisters and two brothers. Surviving are two daughters, Karen L. (Scott) Morehouse and Sharon A. (Chris) Rysenga, both of Kalamazoo; three sons, John L. Bosier and Bruce A. (Cindy) Bosier, both of Richland and William F. (Joyce) Bosier of Starke, FL; her daughter-in-law, Cindy D. Bosier of Plainwell, MI; nineteen grandchildren; fifty-six great grandchildren and two more great grandsons due this fall. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 9th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 12648 East D Avenue, Augusta, MI 49012, with Father John D. Fleckenstein, Celebrant and Deacon Michael A. Carl, Assisting. Family and friends will continue Helen's life celebration with a time of fellowship and a luncheon in the Church Social Hall, immediately following the Mass. Interment will take place next to her beloved husband, John at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Helen's family will greet friends on Monday, August 8th from 5:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel, 9170 East D Avenue (M-89), where the Parish Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions in Helen's honor may be directed to St. Ann Catholic Church.
