Hazel Brummel, age 93 of Holland, passed away peacefully Saturday August 27th at Resthaven Boersma Cottage with family by her side. Hazel was born November 23, 1922 in Overisel, MI to Ray and Anna Maatman. She started her career as a seamstress, making navy coats during WWII, and after raising her family she worked at Hope College for 18 years. Upon retirement, Hazel enjoyed traveling and being in the sunshine. She was a charter member of Calvary Reformed Church and lived a devoted Christian life.
Hazel was proceeded in death by her loving husband Alvin Brummel in 1981. She is survived by her son Ron (Ruth) Brummel, daughter Diane (Bob) Senior, daughter Mary (Ron) Wiley, three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
