Harvey Lubbers, age 86, of Overisel, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus, Sunday, August 21, 2016.

Harvey was born in Overisel, MI and was a lifelong resident of the area. He retired from Haworth in 1990 and was also a part-time farmer. Harvey was a 4-H leader for many years. He was a member of the Overisel Reformed Church where he served as a deacon, elder, and Sunday school teacher. Harvey served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict as a medic, for two years.

He was preceded in death by 5 great grandchildren.

Harvey is survived by his wife of 65 years, Harlene; children, Calvin and Karen Lubbers, Steven and Janis Lubbers, and Judy and Donald Schra; 8 grandchildren, Lisa and Mike Van Ommen (Lauren and Allie), Scott and Stacey Lubbers (Miles and Tensae), Robb and Katie Lubbers (Grayden, Sadler, and Jovie), Jeremy and Alyssa Lubbers (Jensen), Ryan Lubbers, Amanda and Kevin Annis (Melanie), Leah and Ryan Dannenberg, and Jenna Schra; brothers and sister, Lloyd and Helen Lubbers, Stanley and Barbara Lubbers, and Goldie Sternberg; in-laws, Josephine Hoffman, Marilyn and Dale Folkert, and Nancee and Ken Kleinheksel; nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Memorial services will be 11 am, Wednesday at the Overisel Reformed Church, 4706 142nd Avenue, Holland, MI.

Burial will be in Overisel Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm Tuesday, also at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Audio Scripture Ministries or ones choice.

Arrangements are by the Dykstra Funeral Home-Mulder Chapel.
