"Andy" Andersen age 91, passed away at Upjohn Care Center in Kalamazoo, MI. Andy was born to Rasmus and Jessie (Dean) Andersen on 03/14/27 in Battle Creek, MI. On 05/15/47, he married Dorothy Allen in Battle Creek and was happily married for 71 years. Andy attended Western Michigan University and the University of Michigan. After college he joined the Navy and was part of the Seabees. He was enlisted from 1944-1946 and served honorably in World War II. His interest in clocks and watches led him to instructing in the Watch, Clock and Jewelry Repair Department at Michigan Career and Technical Institute formally State Technical Institute and Rehabilitation Center at Pine Lake, MI. Other interest of Andy's includes sports, as he was an enthusiastic University of Michigan fan and was a high school and college referee for 60 years. Andy is survived by his wife Dorothy Andersen, son Scott (Linda) Andersen, daughters Lee (Greg) Koning and Tonya (Greg) Kammeraad, grandchildren Stacy (Jonathan) Flieder, Amy (John) Gajor, Allison Koning, Haley Koning, Andrew Kammeraad, great grandchildren Archer Flieder and Emma Gajor and sister Anne (Chet) Boyd. Andy was preceded in death by his parents, sister Arberdean Stevens and brother Ralph Andersen. Respecting Andy's wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date. He will be sincerely missed as he was truly loved by all.
