Hans Messikommer

Hans U. Messikommer, age 78, of Portage passed away peacefully at Rose Arbor surrounded by his loving family. Hans was born in Zurich, Switzerland, the son of the late Johannes and Trudi Messikommer. On December 12, 1964, he married the love of his life Myrta L. Messikommer who survives. Together they made their home in America. Hans was an avid skier who also enjoyed Formula 1 Racing and traveling. He was a member of Kalamazoo First United Methodist Church. Above all Hans loved his family and did his best to provide for them. He leaves behind many wonderful memories to be cherished. He is also survived by three daughters, Andrea (Tom) Murphy, Elizabeth (Stephen) Madura and Patricia (Rene) Vargas; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Hug and Heidi Stalder, of Switzerland; many nieces, nephews and friends. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017, beginning at 11:00 AM, at First United Methodist Church, 212 S. Park St., Kalamazoo, MI 49007, with Rev. Steve Charnley officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM in the church parlor prior to the service.
