Died Monday morning April 1, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. One of five children, Griselda was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Teritha and Edward Daniel. She lived her entire childhood in Battle Creek, Michigan. She married Henry Gordon and of this union they had three children. She raised four children, including her eldest child, Cornell Gordon in Paw Paw, Michigan where she resided for over thirty years. Griselda was a magna cum laude graduate of Western Michigan University where she held a B.S. and M.A. degree in Educational Leadership. She spent her entire professional career at Western Michigan University as an administrator, where she had a passion for working with students. Throughout her career, she received numerous awards and honors including the university's prestigious, Distinguished Service Award. After her illustrious career, she retired and spent her remaining days gardening, raising her dogs and enjoying life. Griselda was proceeded in death by her parents; son, Cornell Gordon; and Brother Alfred Daniel. Griselda's memory lives on in the hearts of her three children, Gary Gordon of Gobles, MI; Cheri Ann Telfair of Atlanta, GA; Patrick Henry Gordon (Sharon) of Bowie, MD; two sisters, Barbara Daniel-Johnson (Robert) of Kalamazoo, MI; Carol Bradley of Battle Creek, MI; brother, Charles Daniel (Eva) of Lake Charles, LA; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Private burial will take place in Battle Creek Memorial Park Cemetery.
