Passed away Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the age of 19. Grant was born in Niles, MI on November 12, 2000. He was a kind and talented young man with big dreams and a fun-loving personality. He always championed the underdog and helped those that he loved and cared about. Grant had a wide circle of friends and was a gifted guitar player and welder. He also enjoyed forging metal, snow skiing and more recently had a new interest in restoring vintage cars. Grant is survived by his loving parents, John and Cheri (Perse) Ruzza; grandmother, Annette Ruzza; aunts and uncles, Lisa Kerr, Angie (John) Winegarden, Juli Perse, Vicki Gates, Bonni (Ken) Perse-Hanson, Rick Ruzza, and George Perse Jr., Johnny Gates; cousins, Rachael, Brian, Stacey, Ginni, Kati, Jamie, Rylie, Martie, Hunter, Anna, as well as numerous extended family and close friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Rudolph Ruzza and George Perse; grandmother, Virginia Perse. A visitation with 10 person limit at a time in the building will be held from 4-8pm Thursday, September 3rd at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 3926 South 9th Street, and Friday 1 hour prior to the service at church. Services will be held Friday, September 4th at 12:00 pm at Calvary Bible Church 855 S. Drake Rd, Kalamazoo, MI 49009 with Pastor Steve Johnson officiating. The funeral home and family respectfully ask everyone to wear masks and keep social distancing as much as possible. The family will be greeting friends outside and encourage people to visit Grant and kindly step back outside so others may enter. Those desiring may make donations to Heritage Christian Academy or The Grant Ruzza Scholarship Endowment Fund (checks made payable to John Ruzza) in memory of Grant.
