Grace Springer

Grace M. Springer, age 85, of Portage, MI passed away Sunday afternoon, October 29, 2017. Grace was born October 8, 1932 in Kalamazoo the daughter of late Frank and Vera (Hough) Abnet. She worked for several years with the Fema Corporation until her retirement. Grace was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary in Schoolcraft and the Oshtemo United Methodist Church. She enjoyed roller-skating at the Oshtemo Rollar Rink, along with square dancing, clogging, and line-dancing. Grace was very involved with the Oshtemo Little League where her boys played; and also was a den mother while they were in boy scouts. Grace loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Raymond (Patricia) Springer, Brian (Iola) Springer, Joseph Springer; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Billy Springer; and 8 brothers and sisters, William, Charles, Robert, Rebecca, John, Dale, Paul, and Marva. Friends may meet the family from 10:00-11:00am Saturday, November 4 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street where funeral services will begin at 11:00am. A luncheon will follow the service in the Family Centre. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
