Grace Jelinek, age 81, passed away on her birthday, Saturday December 24, 2016 in Iron River, MI. Grace was born in Racine, December 24, 1935, daughter of the late Fred and Cora (Nee: Van Dyjke) Voetberg.

Grace graduated from William Horlick High School “Class of 1953”. On August 24, 1957 she was united in marriage to Richard Jelinek. Grace was employed for forty years by Briggs and Stratton, retiring in 2002, and was previous employed by Hamilton Beach and Osters. After retirement she cherished time spent up north with her family. A tremendous cook, Grace also enjoyed shopping, flower and vegetable gardening. Above all she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She will be dearly missed by her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Richard; her son and daughter-in-law, Steven (Lori) Jelinek of Milwaukee; her grandchildren, Kyle (Jeannie) Jelinek, Megan Grace Jelinek, all of Milwaukee; her great-grandchildren, Kailyn and Jordyn; brother, Ralph Voetberg of Racine; sister, Jeanette Jenkins of Racine; sister-in-law, Gloria Jelinek of South Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Kevin; and brother, Donald.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2016, 12:00 P.M., at the funeral home. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the funeral home from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at 12:00 P.M. Memorials to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation have been suggested.
