Gloria Jean Stegenga, age 80, of Holland went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at American House of Holland.

Gloria loved being at home spending time and loving on her family. She was a member of Harlem Reformed Church. Gloria had the gift of encouragement, sending out cards and hand written notes to many. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband John Stegenga in 2005 and her brother Arthur Van Der Wolde.

She is survived by her children: Ronald and Roberta Stegenga of Hamilton, Paula and Jack Glass of West Olive and Randy and Teri Stegenga of Walker; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister: Ruth Bloemers of Holland; sisters-in-law: Virginia Van Der Wolde of Grandville, Della DeFeyter of Holland and Pat and Dave Heerspink of Lynchburg, VA; brother-in-law: Phil and Jo Stegenga of Holland; nieces, nephews and cousins. And a special thanks to the staff at American House of Holland.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Friday, October 7, 2016 at Harlem Reformed Church, 6854 144th Avenue in Holland. Reverend John Nyitray will be officiating. Burial will be in North Holland Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Dykstra Funeral Home – Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Avenue in Holland. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Holland.
