Glenn F. Wiersma, age 86, of Holland died Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Providence Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Glenn was a member of Beechwood Church where he was a Sunday school superintendent, elder, deacon, sang in the choir, Boy Scout leader, and was part of the men’s work bee and food pantry volunteer. He retired from Elhart Automotive after many years of service. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, camping, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Jean Weener and a son-in-law Bill Withorn.

He is survived by his wife Alice (Allie) of 66 years and children: Mark and Brenda Wiersma of Rockford, MI, Bruce and Brenda Wiersma of Holland, Tom (TJ) and Marie Wiersma of St. John’s, MI and Pam Withorn of Harrison, MI; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brothers and sister: Roger Wiersma of White Plains, NY, Dale and Betty Wiersma of Springfield, MO and Ida and Robert Kamphuis of Zeeland; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be 12:00 pm, Monday, October 26, 2015 at Beechwood Church, 895 Ottawa Beach Road in Holland. Reverend Dawn Vagle will be officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 pm, Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Beechwood Church – Food Pantry or American Cancer Society.
