Went to be with his precious Lord Saturday morning December 16, 2017. Glenn was born November 13, 1943 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Ralph and Ruth (Rose) Van Beck. Years ago, he served Honorably with the U.S. Navy. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the Upjohn Company for 33 years, retiring in 1996. He was a volunteer with the Westwood and Upjohn Fire Departments for several years. He enjoyed sailing and traveling to Europe and across the country. Singing was a big part of his life, especially many years with the Singing Crusaders. Glenn was also a member of Second Christian Reformed Church where he served as an Elder and Deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Andrew William Van Beck in 2016. On October 8, 1965, he was united in marriage to Ruth Elaine (DeVries) Van Beck who survives. Also surviving, 3 children, Steve (Jennifer) Van Beck of Indianapolis, IN, Stacey (Chad) Overbeek of Petoskey, MI, and Angela (Spike) Huismann of Comstock Park, MI; 15 grandchildren; a brother, Henry (Alice) Van Beck of Sarasota, FL; and several nephews. Glenn loved the Lord and shared him with everyone he met. Services will be held 11 o'clock Wednesday at Second Christian Reformed Church, 3015 Nichols Rd. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Grand Prairie Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Second Christian Reformed Church Missionary Fund or to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
