Geraldine Gokey

Geraldine Lucille Gokey, age 79 of Mattawan, passed away March 13, 2018 at Bronson Commons with her immediate family at her side. She was born November 11, 1938 in Bear Lake, Michigan to the late August and Lucille (Wade) Miehlke. She was united in marriage to Edgar Gokey on October 21, 1955 in Detroit, whom preceded her in death on May 13, 2003. From their marriage came four children. Together they owned and operated Ed Gokey Asphalt for over 25 years. Surviving are children, Donna Kidd, Deanna Gokey, David Gokey, grandchildren, Billy Kidd, Bradley (Angie) Kidd and Matthew (Sarah) Gilman, Kaitlyn Gokey, Haleigh (Gokey) Leslie and Garrett Gokey, great grandchildren, Austin Palmer, Zoey Gilman and Nicholas Seigel, special nephew, Ray Miehlke Jr., one brother and two sisters. Geraldine is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edgar, son in law Tom Kidd and three brothers. Geraldine was an avid bowler most all of her life until her health prevented her from bowling. She enjoyed going to lunch with her bowling ladies and listening to country music, traveling to concerts and collecting autographs. One of her favorite trips was with her two daughters to the American Idol concert to see Danny Gokey. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 17, 2018 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave, Paw Paw where a funeral service will commence at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Almena Cemetery, Paw Paw.
