Gerald Hedrick

Mr. Gerald E. "Jerry" Hedrick, age 94, of Kalamazoo, MI died Saturday evening June 10, 2017. Jerry was born July 24, 1922 in Leaf River, Illinois a son of David and Stella (Motter) Hedrick. He graduated from the University of Illinois and served honorably with the U.S. Army during WWII. Jerry had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life and began his career as an accountant at the Upjohn Company for 5 years before joining Kalamazoo Public Schools as a business administrator and managed the district's finances for over 30 years. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church, Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO), Kiwanis Club of Kalamazoo, and the American Legion. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mildred K. Hedrick on May 1, 2017; an infant son, Allen G. Hedrick; a son, Gary J. Hedrick; a brother, Robert Hedrick; and a sister, Mary Sage. He is survived by 2 daughters, Carol (Dan) Dustin of Sturgis and Linda H. Fazio of Kalamazoo; 2 grandchildren, Gina (Justin) Fazio Terada of Chicago and Gary M. Fazio of Kalamazoo; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held 1 o'clock Thursday, June 22nd at the First United Methodist Church, 212 S.
