Gerald “Gary” L. Kennedy Sr., age 84, passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 at Ridgewood Care Center. Gerald was born in Fort Dodge, IA, January 27, 1933, son of the late Albert and Juanita (Nee: Pavey) Kennedy.

Gary proudly served in the United States Army. He was employed with Jacobsen Manufacturing for thirty-nine years, retiring in 1996. An avid outdoorsman, Gerald enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was a lifetime member of the Racine County Conservation. He enjoyed volunteering with Salmon-A-Rama.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Lorraine; his children, Gary (Juley) Kennedy of Racine, Albert (Michelle) Kennedy of FL, Dixie Richardson, Debbie Kremis, both of Racine, Gerald (Jeanette) Kennedy Jr. of Burlington, Richard (Kelly) Kennedy of Racine, John Kennedy of Milwaukee; 24 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; sister, Colleen (Ed) Deal of Fort Dodge, IA; brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law, Richard (Barb) VanderLeest of Racine, Bernard VanderLeest of Texas, Gene VanderLeest, Joyce Lundgren, Grace (Jim) Schiebeneg and Sylvia VanderLeest all of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday February 13, 2017, 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Entombment with Full Military Honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the funeral home from 10:30 A.M. until time of service at 12:00 P.M.
