With his loving family by his side, George T. Fiala, age 86, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 at his home. George was born in Chicago, IL, October 12, 1930, son of the late Joseph and Anna (Nee: Voleman) Fiala.

George graduated from the University of Illinois-Champaign with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. On September 2, 1961 at St. Peter’s Church in Chicago, IL he was united in marriage to Audrey I. Besta. George was employed with International Harvester Company for twenty-one years and lastly with J.I. Case Company, transmission plant in Racine for the next twenty years, retiring in 1993. Never letting his genius rest, George still helped with many projects for the next twenty years, active until 2013. Throughout his career, he was the recipient of numerous patents for various hydraulic valve implementations. George enjoyed bowling, but he truly loved his trips up north on fishing expeditions.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of fifty-five years, Audrey; his children, Gregory J. Fiala, Denise Fiala, Bradley J. Fiala; sister-in-law, Geraldine Martineck; other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Fiala.

Private services will be held in Illinois. Memorials to the American Cancer Society have been suggested.
