Geneva A. "Gigi" "Genny" Callen

85, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. Geneva was born November 18, 1933 in Kalamazoo to the late John and Matilda (Brandt) Gilbert. She was united in marriage to Gerald "Jerry" Callen on December 23, 1978. Geneva made her home in Kalamazoo her entire life. She was a 1951 graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. She was a Christian her entire life. She had many hobbies & interests including ceramics, reading, shopping, sewing, cross-stitch, dolls and walking. Genny had a good sense of humor, a feisty personality and she was a fighter. She loved her companion animals, and she had many through the years. Genny was energetic and active until her diagnosis of hydrocephalus, which ultimately left her bedridden the last few years of her life. She was under the wonderful care of all at Grace Valley. Geneva is survived by her husband, Jerry; daughters, Tammi Youngs of Portage, and Teri (Rick) Martin of Vicksburg; step-sons, Terry (Penny) Callen and Michael Callen, both of Kalamazoo; 3 grandchildren, Scott (Breanna), Ben (Jen), and Alison (Todd) Martin; 4 great-grandchildren, Brayden, Sofia, Nolan, and Octavia Martin; siblings, Beverly Marker, Paul (Vicki) Gilbert, Don and Edwin Gilbert; several nieces and nephews; and her dog companions, Molly and Mindy.
