Gary Seager

Seager, Mr. Gary J. 4/28/1960 - 1/23/2017 Kalamazoo Age 56, passed away at his home on January 23, 2017. Gary was born in Kalamazoo on April 28, 1960, the son of James and Jacqueline Seager. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother who will be missed. He graduated from Loy Norrix Class of 1978. Gary was a hard worker and loved to stay busy. He was handy and could fix almost anything and enjoyed repairing cars, motorcycles and remodeling homes. He worked for many years in the paper and automotive industries. When not working, he loved playing golf and hockey. It was said he could skate before he could walk and he was an avid Red Wings and reluctant Blackhawks fan. Gary also served his community as a volunteer fireman for more than ten years at Kalamazoo Township Station 1. Above all Gary loved his family and leaves them with many wonderful memories to cherish. On July 11, 1987 he married the love of his life Rachel (Nirenberg) Seager who preceded him in passing on April 4, 2016. He was also preceded in passing by a brother, Robert Seager. He is survived by his loving daughter, Ellyssa (Brian Greene) Seager; parents, James (Jacqueline) Seager; in-laws, Jeff (Sarah) Fisher and Richard (Barbara) Nirenberg; brother-in-law, Adam (Kelly) Nirenberg, Leah (Rodney) Vergotine; niece, Sofie Nirenberg; nephews, Jared and Zak Vergotine; many close friends. In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place and a memorial celebration will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2017, from 3:00 to 5:30PM, at Northbridge Church, 8824 Douglas Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49009.
