Gail Petersen

Gail F. Petersen, age 72, of Galesburg, MI passed away at her home on Monday morning, July 17, 2017. She was born in Kalamazoo on May 4, 1945, the loving daughter of Richard "Dick" and Freda (Modderman) Wilson. Gail truly loved all animals and served for many years as a Veterinary Assistant and bookkeeper with the Galesburg and Beadle Lake Large Animal Clinics. Gail married Peter Edward Petersen in Kalamazoo on May 10, 1991; he tragically preceded her in death on October 26, 2015. She is survived by her daughter, Abby (Guy) Santek of Galesburg; sons, Daniel G. White Jr. of Kalamazoo and Douglas White, of Chelsea; six grandchildren, Danny, Lesli, Debbie, Connie, Lizzy, and Parker White; a sister, Patricia Raymer, and several great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews. An avid animal lover, Gail enjoyed riding horses, and working on the family farm, "The Zoo of Fort Custer Drive". She also enjoyed gardening, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends. The family will receive friends 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, July 23rd at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel 9170 East D. Ave. (M-89) Richland, where a memorial service to celebrate Gail's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 24th.
