Frederick L. Lawrence, age 78, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Wheaton Franciscan All-Saints Medical Center. He was born in Racine on May 14, 1937 son of the late Ralph and Freida (Nee: Scheel) Lawrence.

Fred proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was united in marriage to Sheila Fehlberg on June 20, 1964 at the First Presbyterian Church. He graduated from U.W. Parkside in 1974. He was employed as an industrial engineer for Snap-on-Tools and the City of Racine.

Fred was alderman of the 4th District from 1970-1974, served as past master of Belle City Lodge 92 and was the former chairman of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He also had been a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for more than fifty years, and officiated sports for the City of Racine and various high schools for 42 years. Above all he cherished time spent with his family, especially quality time with his grandchildren. He affectionately will always be remembered as “Beempa”.

Surviving are his wife Sheila, five children; Shelly Lawrence, Shawn (Jodi) Lawrence, Chad (Jennifer) Lawrence, Molly Lawrence (Scott Schmaling), Heidi Lawrence (Michael Cibrario); 12 grandchildren, Luke (Tessa) Alvarez, Sara and Ben Rangel, Austin and Jordan Lawrence, Cayleb, Noah, Callie and Aiden Lawrence, Isabella and Chloe Schmaling and Lydia Waller-Lawrence; one great grandchild expected, Jonah; sisters; Pat Lesniewski, Susan Butterfield, Marie Janzak; brothers, Tim Lawrence, David Lawrence, Mike (Becky) Lawrence; sister-in-law, Beverly Lawrence; brother-in-law, Otto (Janet) Fehlberg; nieces, nephews other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his sister Linda Abbott and brother Jack Lawrence.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 16, 2015, 11:00 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church, 716 College Ave. with Rev. Gillian Weighton officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation on Sunday, November 14, 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home and on Monday at 10:00 until time of service at the church.
