Frederick Lee "Jaimie" Wright, age 73, of Augusta, MI died Friday morning, December 16, 2016 at his residence and following a lengthy illness. Jaimie, the son of Vernon F. and Virginia J. (De Korte) Wright, was born in Otsego, MI on March 6, 1943. He served his country honorably and nobly during the Vietnam War as a Private (E-2) in the United States Army with the 11th Armor Cavalry. Jaimie was a woodwright by trade, but also had been a millwright and a blacksmith. He was a member of the Northeastern Baptist Church of Kalamazoo, MI and was a Michigan State Director for the Gold Prospecting Association of America. When he wasn't woodworking, he was an avid hunter and fisherman, but his true passion in life were his children and grandchildren! Jaimie was united in marriage to the former Mary Ann Myers in Kalamazoo on February 21, 1996 and she survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Corinne A. (Richard) Crisman of Otsego, DeAnn Wright of MO and Nickole A. (Scott) Vickery of Delton, MI; four sons, David C. (Julia) Markle of Vicksburg, MI, Craig J. (Judy Meyers) Markle of Plainwell, MI, Lonnie Leonard and Arthur Leonard, both of Delton; twenty five grandchildren; twenty eight great grandchildren and two sisters, Shirley DeWitt of Manchester, TN and Debra Moore of Wayland, MI. Jaimie was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronald Markle in 2002 and three brothers, Henry, Robert and Richard "Moose" Wright. The Graveside Service to celebrate Jaimie's life will be held on Thursday, December 22nd at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta with the United States Army Honor Guard and the Fort Custer Honor Guard bestowing full military honors in conjunction with Rev. George L. Coon, Pastor Emeritus of the Northeastern Baptist Church. Jaimie's family will greet friends on Wednesday, December 21st from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Augusta Chapel, 307 N. Webster Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jaimie's honor may be directed to the Gary Sinise Foundation, Serving Honor And Need, P. O. Box 50008, Studio City, CA 91614-5001 or the Northeastern Baptist Church, 6536 East G Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI 49048.
