Passed away Saturday afternoon, November 10, 2018. Fred was born in Kalamazoo the son of Frederick Sr. and Freda (Spath) Dyke and was a longtime resident in Parchment. He was a veteran serving in the Army Air Corp during World War II. Prior to his retirement he was employed for several years with Kalamazoo County. He was also an accountant for several different companies and was doing taxes for people into his mid 80's. Fred was one of the founding members of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and was active with the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed following the LPGA tour and volunteered at several of their tournaments. He and his wife, Jane loved to take mini-trips to surrounding states not too far from home. Fred was a humble man with great integrity and honesty. On June 30, 1951 he was united in marriage to his loving wife, Jane (Murray) who preceded him in death on July 19, 2011. Fred is survived by his 6 children, Tom (Sue) Dyke, Jim (Deb) Dyke, Mary (Gary) Fish, Stephen Dyke, Anne (Alan) Pearcy, Peter (Debbie) Dyke; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special cousin, Pat (Al) Sarquiz; and Jane's sister, Joan Casey. Friends may meet the family from 5-7pm Tuesday, November 13 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, November 14 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1628 East G Ave. Private family interment will be held at a later date in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Sister's of St. Joseph, St. Andrews Community Church, or St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
