Frederick Alburtus

Frederick Neil Alburtus, 42, of Lawrence, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014, of injuries from an auto accident in Hartford Township. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Monday, April 7, at the Paw Paw Seventh-day Adventist Church. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5-8 PM Sunday, April 6, at the Betzler-Thompson Life Story Funeral Home in Paw Paw. Memorial donations may be made to the family to help defray expenses. Fred was born September 12, 1971, in Watervliet, the son of Patton and Joyce (Haney) Alburtus. He graduated in 1990 from Lawrence High School. In addition to his lawn care business, he worked as a plant supervisor for Quality Assured Plastics in Lawrence. His leisure enjoyments included golfing, snowmobiling, boating, and he was a master griller. And he loved to eat pizza. Fred loved his family, with a special love for the grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Deb, whom he married August 2, 2008 in Dublin, MI; his parents, Pat and Joyce Alburtus of Lawrence; step-children, Dustin, Daniel, Renee and Laura Wydick; nine grandchildren; and his nephews and niece, Cody, Cory, and Carli Owens. Fred was preceded in death by his sister, Holly Lynn Alburtus Owens on March 30, 2012; and a granddaughter, Faith Lillian.
