Floyd G. Hinton, age 84, of Battle Creek, MI passed away on Monday morning, November 21, 2016 at the Laurels of Bedford. He was born on April 12, 1932 in Gary, IN, the son of Henry and Velma (Bryant) Hinton. Floyd was a veteran of both the US Navy and US Air Force serving almost 8 years from 1952-1960. He was also a 52-year member of the Laborers' International Union of North America. Surviving are two sisters: Lois (Bill) Langs of Climax and Joanne Heath of Battle Creek; two brothers: Wesley Hinton of Climax and Wayne (MaryAnn) Hinton of Battle Creek; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; step-mother who raised Floyd since he was 7 years old: Julia (Pelton) Hinton; five brothers: Robert, Thomas, Harry, Henry and Vern Hinton; and three sisters: Clara DeGram, Thelma Gilbert and Flora Takamoto. Visitation will be from 12-1pm on Monday, Nov. 28, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Climax Chapel, 205 E. Maple Street, with a funeral service to be held at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to Climax-Scotts High School Football or Parchment High School Football.
