Sehy, Floyd 6/10/1952 - 5/9/2022 Paulden, AZ Floyd D. Sehy Jr., age 69, of Paulden, Arizona passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022. He was a native of Michigan spending most of his life in Vicksburg and eventually retired to Arizona in 2017. Floyd was a dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend. He was somewhat of a free spirit and is quoted as saying, "Wherever the wind may take me, you will always be in my heart and on my mind." In 1952, despite the war in Korea, Americans considered themselves to be prospering. Three out of 5 families owned a car, 2 out of 3 families had a telephone, and 1 in 3 homes had a television. The iconic musical film "Singin' In The Rain" premiered at Radio City Music Hall. June 10, 1952 marked an especially memorable day in the Michigan city of Kalamazoo for Floyd and Emily (Dolph) Sehy when they celebrated the birth of their son, Floyd Dustin Sehy Jr. Floyd was the second of eventually six children in the Sehy household. His mother remained at home as a homemaker and looked after Floyd Jr. and other siblings, Linda, Nancy, Mike, Bruce, and Karen. To support their bustling household, Floyd's father worked at the local paper mill. From the start, Floyd was a happy and outgoing kid. He relished boyhood adventures, and found more than his share of mischief, too. Eventually Floyd took a job as a pipefitter at the Vicksburg paper mill. While continuing to work at the mill, Floyd married Theresa Waldron. He took Theresa's daughters, Gina and Melissa, and raised them as his own. Together they shared two more children, Tabitha and Matthew. Even though the marriage came to an end, Floyd was forever grateful for the children they shared from their union. Some of the best memories with the children include, taking walks in the woods, sitting around campfires, riding horses, and riding dirt bikes. Floyd was passionate about restoring the '57 Chevy in memory of his late brother Michael. Also, Floyd collected model trains and spent a great amount of time setting up a large display in his basement. He loved having his grandchildren over to watch the trains in action. He also enjoyed playing and listening to music and one of his favorite songs was "Leader of the Band." Floyd worked for many years at American Axle in Three Rivers before retiring and moving to Arizona. He spent his final years enjoying the mountains in Arizona with his loving companion, Deb Thompson and her family. Floyd D. Sehy Jr., of Paulden, AZ (formally of Vicksburg, MI) passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 at the age of 69. Floyd is survived by Deb Thompson, of Paulden, AZ; his children: Tabitha (Raul) Sehy, of South Haven; Matthew Sehy of Kentucky; Gina (Randy) Munn of Mattawan; Melissa (Doug) Vrba of Kalamazoo; eleven grandchildren: Dustin, Joseph, Lauren, Danielle, Ethan, Tyler, Bryce, Graham, Sophia, Madison and Jake; five great-grandchildren: Ariya, Aniyah, Terrell Jr., Emma, Beau, and more on the way. Floyd is also survived by his siblings: Linda (Willard) Mohney, of Vicksburg; Nancy (Ray) Baughan, of Vicksburg; Bruce Sehy, of Scotts; Karen Coville, of Paw Paw. He was preceded in death by his brother Michael, and parents, Floyd and Emily Sehy. At Floyd's request, a "party"/celebration of life, which will include a campfire, is planned for August 13, 2022 at 7:00 pm. This celebration of life will be held at the home of Willard & Linda Mohney in Vicksburg. Floyd would often say "There will always be a place for each and every one of you at my campfire."
