Age 87, of Paw Paw passed away peacefully, Thursday morning, August 10, 2017 at Bronson Commons in Mattawan. Felicia was born December 14, 1929 the daughter of the late Felix and Corinne (Mrowiec) Venckus. In 1949 she was united in marriage to Anton J. Zolp who preceded her in death on January 13, 1998. She was also preceded in death by a son, Anthony. She was a graduate of Bloomingdale High School, Worsham College of Mortuary Science and Bronson School of Nursing, received her BS in Nursing and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University. She was a Registered Nurse for many years before becoming an instructor at the Bronson School of Nursing in Kalamazoo, MI. She retired from the Bronson Hospital School of Nursing after 20 years of teaching. She was an active member of the Alumni Association of Bronson Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. Continuing her service in the medical field she worked for the Kalamazoo Visiting Nurses of Southwestern Michigan and a Hospice volunteer of Van Buren and Cass County Hospice. Along with being a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Paw Paw, Felicia lived a busy and fulfilling life. She loved to cook and bake for all the family gatherings. She cherished her many friendships made throughout her life, especially the 6 hour breakfasts with co-instructors from the Bronson School of Nursing. She was an avid reader keeping the Paw Paw Library very busy finding new books. Her life was devoted to her family, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Surviving are a daughter, Kathryn (Joseph) Gedvilas, grandchildren, Adrienne (Daniel) Rohde, Brian (Ashley) Gedvilas, Jason (Leah) Gedvilas and Michael Gedvilas, great grandchildren, Lillie Rohde, Adeline, Henry, Leo, Bradley, Landon Gedvilas; son, William (Terri) Zolp, grandchildren, Andrew (Stacy) Zolp, Caitlyn (Rob) Suski and Meghan (Sam) Marshall, great grandchildren, Elliana and Benjamin Marshall, Owen Suski and Anna Zolp; son, Charles (Kathy) Zolp, grandchildren Jonathan (Melissa) Zolp, David Zolp and Jessica Zolp; son, Philip Zolp, grandchildren, Nicholas, Marie and Carressa Zolp; daughter, Patricia (Steve) Hill, grandchildren, Corinne, Emily (Joel) Sanders, Laura and Julia Hill; brother, Ronald (late Jackie) Venckus of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Audrey (late Jerry) Abnet of Portage; niece, Vivian Venckus deceased; nephews, Ronald Venckus, Paul (Vilma) Venckus, and Charles (Jen) Abnet; grandniece, Jillanne Venckus, Alexandra Venckus, Averi Abnet and Peyton Abnet; grandnephews Paul Venckus, Ashton Abnet. Mass of Christian burial was held Saturday, August 12, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paw Paw with Rev. Fr. Joseph Xavier celebrant. Interment followed at St. Mary's Cemetery, Paw Paw. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mary's Church in her memory and Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
