Evelyn G. Horstman, age 88, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 and now rejoices with her Father and all the saints in Heaven.

The daughter of George W. and Alice M. (Miller) Cole, Evelyn was born March 1929 in Wheatfield Township, Ingham County, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Doris Kremer, Valda Davidowicz, and Dale Grettenberger, as well as by her brothers- and sister-in-law William Kremer, Leo Davidowicz, Marion and Agnes Horstman, and Irvin Horstman.

Evelyn is survived by Gerald Horstman, her husband of more than 63 years, her children Brian (Karen) Horstman and David (LuAnn) Horstman, her Grandchildren Elizabeth (Craig) Morehouse, Audrey (Justin) Brinks, Valerie (Mike) Bosscher, and Brandon Horstman, and her Great-Grandchildren Kaylee, Nora, Roseanna, and Levi. She is also survived by her brother Charles (Linda) Grettenberger, and her brothers- and sisters-in-law Gene (June) Horstman, Keith (Ann) Horstman, Gertrude (Ed) Visser, Del (Marla) Horstman, Virgil (Joann) Horstman, Nelson (Gloria) Horstman, Gary (Florence) Horstman and Bob (Glenda) Horstman, along with many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. A proud graduate of the Butterworth Hospital School of Nursing, Evelyn followed her calling for over 40 years while serving at the Grand Rapids Veteran’s Hospital, Butterworth Hospital, Osteopathic Hospital, and several private medical practices in Grand Rapids. She was a loving wife and mother, an avid reader, a student of the Holy Bible, and lived her Christian faith in her daily life.
