Tein, Evalene Evalene Tein was reunited with her husband, Alfred (Al), on April 19, 2017. Evalene was born on August 10, 1924 in Grand Haven, Michigan to Cornelius and Gertrude VandenBrand. She married Alfred Tein on May 8, 1946 and he preceded her in death in June of 2002. Also preceding her were her daughter, Barbara J. Schwemberger and son-in-law Joseph Schwemberger, along with her daughter-in-law Mavis Tein. Evalene was an avid reader and enjoyed a giraffe collection which she loved to share with others. She and Al were longtime members of Wayland Christian Reformed Church which they considered their second family. Evalene is survived by daughter Carole (Bruce) Cole, son Loren "Jim" Tein, daughter Phyllis (Terrill M.) Clark, and son, Brian (Teresa) Tein. Evalene is also survived by her grandchildren Brendan Cole, Luke Tein, Eric (Cassy) Jorgensen, Erin (Ryan) Henson, Soney (Heather) Walton, Andy Tein, Sarah and Julie VanDyke and Jenny (Nick) Cook, as well as several great grand-children, nieces, nephews and her sister-in-law. Memorial services to honor Evalene will be announced at a later date.
