Eugene Silvani, age 90, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the Veteran’s Home, Town of Dover. He was born in Racine, January 30, 1927, son of the late Amintore and Cesira (Nee: Ferminelli) Silvani.

He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. On June 25, 1949 at St. Edward Catholic Church he was united in marriage to Nancy A. Whalen who preceded him in death, December 5, 1999. Eugene was employed by Western Publishing Company for thirty plus years, retiring in 1988. He was a longtime member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and was actively involved with Roma Lodge where he enjoyed working bingo and playing bocce. He enjoyed Wisconsin sports teams, the Cubs and playing the slots at the casino with family and friends.

He will be dearly missed by his children, James (Georgette) Silvani, William Silvani (Annette), Joanie (Michael) Norman, Robert (Rose) Silvani; his eight grandchildren, Stacy (Craig) Brouwers, David (Brianna) Silvani, Jessica Silvani, Michelle (Jon) Love, Brandon, Melissa, Jordan and Austin Silvani; twelve great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Barbara Darby; brother-in-law, Rev. William Whalen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his sisters, Jeanette Petersen and Irene Greene.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 27, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring Street, 11:00 A.M. with Rev. William Whalen officiating. Roma Lodge Service at 10:00 A.M. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Boland Hall or Fairchild Hall at the Veteran’s Home, Town of Dover.
