Eugene Marks

Passed away peacefully Wednesday morning March 11, 2020 surrounded by his family. Eugene was born June 29, 1927 in Decatur, Michigan a son of Arthur and Daisy (Eastman) Marks. He was a graduate of Decatur High School. During the Korean War, he served with the U.S. Army. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1955 and was employed with the Eckrich Company for 30 years before retiring. After retirement, Eugene enjoyed 20 years of working at Kalamazoo Wings Stadium. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers; and a sister. On September 3, 1955, he was united in marriage to JoAnn (Chilla) Marks who survives. Also surviving, 3 children, Eugene Marks, James (Nancy) Marks, and Kathy (Mark) Monendo all of Kalamazoo; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Faye) Marks of Lawton, MI; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 11 o'clock Monday, March 16th from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Graveside services will be held 1 o'clock Monday, March 16th in Fort Custer National Cemetery with full military honors.
