Eugene Alan Nelson, “Gene”, age 63, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 at his home. He was born in Racine, May 7, 1953, son of Richard and Jeanette (Nee: Hegeman) Nelson.

Gene graduated from J.I Case High School “Class of 1971”. He was employed by S. C. Johnson at Waxdale for 37 years and was a member of the S.C. Johnson Twenty Year Club. Gene was an avid Packer fan and outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his mother, Jeanette Nelson; siblings, JoAnn, Mary (Ronald), Sue, Richard (Joyce), and Elaine; special friends, Rich and Dave; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard and brothers-in-law, William and Ronald.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, September 21, 2016 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 A.M. with Deacon Janice Navarro officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The American Cancer Society have been suggested.

A very special thank you to the staff at Wheaton Franciscan Medical Center as well as Wheaton Franciscan Home Health and Hospice staff for their care and support at this difficult time.
