Ethel Helen Carlson, age 90, passed away Wednesday, March 16, at The Villa at Lincoln Park. She was born March 8, 1926, in Medford, WI to Dave and Ruth (Larson) Carlson. Along with her eight siblings, she was raised in a log cabin on the family farm during the depression. On July 6, 1946, she married Carl Edward Miller, son of the late Susan Miller of Clifton, IL.

She is also survived by one brother, Lester Carlson of Marshfield, WI; sister in law, Sandy (Roy) Carlson of Reedsburg, WI; and many lifelong friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Carl in 1975; three brothers, Marlin, Roy, and Jerry; and four sisters, Mabel Notogiacomo, Florence Tytor, Gladys Pawelko, and infant Lois Carlson.

Ethel attended Racine Technical Institute and graduated as a LPN. She worked at St. Mary’s hospital for 27 years retiring in 1990. She was a lifelong junker and antique collector. She especially enjoyed stripping and refinishing her finds, bringing them back to their original glory. Ethel loved to garden and relax in her swimming pool.
