Passed away April 13th, 2018 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts to Richard S. Crocker and Esther (Gibson) Crocker. She spent her childhood in Amherst, NH, attending Nashua High School, St. Mary's in the Mountains and received her teaching degree from Plymouth State College. Essie moved to Kalamazoo to start her beloved career in teaching at Lincoln School. She went above and beyond for her students, affecting hundreds of their lives and their futures. She was proud that she loved all her students equally and never had a favorite, they were all her favorites. After she retired many would come up to her to thank her and she recognized them all. She was predeceased by her twin brother, Richard G. Crocker and her younger brother, Thomas E. Crocker. She traveled "East" every year to visit her hometown of Amherst. She loved going out to eat, pancakes with real maple syrup and butter, black coffee and donut holes. Essie was predeceased by her twin brother, Richard G. Crocker and her younger brother, Thomas E. Crocker. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She will be dearly missed. Funeral services are private.
