Espers Lawrence Swanton Jr., 71 of Frederic and Brooksville, Florida, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 in Traverse City.

He was born on March 23, 1943 in Freeland, Michigan the son of Espers M. and Wilma M. (Filmore) Swanton Sr.

He married Nancy Diana Boyce on June 30, 1961 in Saginaw.

He was a Gold Member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and with ABC with three 300 rings.

He loved to bowl, golf, play euchre and help others fix whatever was broken.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy with 53 wonderful years; son, Chris (Donna) Swanton; daughters, Diana Milan, Patti (Louis) Menard; grandchildren, Dustin, Danette, Schuyler, Whitney, Dewey, Danielle and Jessalynn; 10 great-grandchildren; borthers, Ernie and Vernell; sister, Bonnie and many more family and friends that loved him. He will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson and euchre partner, Louis Menard and his sister, Eleanor.
