Ernest Roberts

Ernest William Roberts sailed off into the sunset on Saturday September 29th, 2018 at Haven Hospice in Palatka, Florida. Ernie was born June 14, 1934 to Una (Gable) & William Roberts. Ernie served in the Navy where he was a Korean War veteran. On July 14, 1955 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Mary J Bean and together they raised 7 children. Ernie was a hardworking self-employed painter, well known by everyone in the community. His favorite pastimes were golf, playing the lottery and having his hair combed. Ernie is survived by his wife of 5 years Shirley (Morton) and his 7 children; Louise Taylor (Clare Anderson), Pam (Tom) Niedzielski, William (Sherry) Roberts, Penny Roberts, Michael (Patti) Roberts, Teresa (David) Ward, Elizabeth (Michael) Carriere, 23 Grandchildren, 69 Great Grandchildren, 19 Great Great Grandchildren, siblings; David (Shirley) Roberts, Robert (Helen) Roberts, Patricia Ray & Alta Smith. He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Mary (Bean) Roberts and his parents Una (Gable) & William Roberts. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at: Lutheran Church of the Savior, 3616 East G Avenue on Friday, October 19th @ 11:00am with Pastors Paul Nuechterlein & Mike Kemper officiating.
