Ernest Guess

Guess, Ernest Allen Ernest Allen Guess, age 87, passed away January 10, 2021 at his home. He was born May 14, 1933 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the late Ernest E. Guess and May Nora (Dowell) Cross. Ernest was a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed as a machinist with Durametallic/Flowserve for over 30 years. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church for 68 years. On March 1, 1958, he was united in marriage to Janit H. Kaake, who preceded him in death in 2018. He was also preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley Kaswell (Guess); brother, Larry Guess; son, Michael Guess; and great-grandson, Randall Douglas Hughes, Jr. Ernest is survived by his sons, Mitchell Guess of Kingman, AZ, Matthew Guess of Galesburg, and Mark (Patty) Guess of Howard City, MI; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Guess; brothers, Jerry and Robert Guess; daughter-in-law, Joleen Guess; as well as several nieces and nephews. Private services will be held for the family. Ernest will be laid to rest in Oak Grove Cemetery in Galesburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be direct to Michigan Heart Fund.
