Ernest Bean Jr.

Ernest Bean Jr., age 67, passed away at his home on Monday November 16, 2015. Ernest was born in Lula, MS on January 17, 1948, son of the late Ernest Price and Maggie Bean.

He was united in marriage to Kena Lynn White, who preceded him in death on June 22, 2003. Ernest was employed with the Chicago Department of Transportation as a taxi cab driver for many years. In his spare time, he loved his many travels with his family throughout the United States and Canada, and he also enjoyed fishing and testing his luck at casinos. He will be best remembered as a kind and gentle man who loved his family.

He will be dearly missed by his children, Janet Shields, Walter Gardner, Ernest “Jr” Bean III; seven grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; siblings, Katie Davis, Nancy Johnson, Walter Johnson, Archer Johnson, Effie “May May” Blunt; brother-in-law, John White; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, November 28, 2015, 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Kevin Stewart officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at 2:00 p.m.
