Erma H. Wyers (Brill), 86, of Traverse City and Hubbard Lake passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at The Villa in Traverse City. She was born in Clarkston, MI on July 22, 1930 to the late Julian and Marie Brill.

Erma grew up on Lake Williams and helped operate the family store until she married in 1953. She then worked in the infirmary until 1957 when she and her husband moved to Alpena and then later purchased a farm in Hubbard Lake. The farm and children kept her busy for many years. After retirement from the farm, she once again entered the field of caring for people by being a home health care worker.

Erma was very talented in the areas of knitting, sewing and crocheting. She enjoyed traveling and has been to England, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Mexico. For several years she and her husband spent the winters in Texas where they made many friends. Erma loved to meet new people and was always willing to help wherever needed. She served as the treasurer of the VFW in Spruce for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth W. Wyers, and her brother, Robert Brill.

She is survived by her four children, Dawn (Tom) Jagelewski of Traverse City, Kenneth (Carol) Wyers of Hubbard Lake, Janie (Don) Johnson of Erie, PA, and Laura Sinkler of Kalkaska. In addition she has 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 11am, Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Huron Shores Fellowship Church, Alpena. The family will greet friends starting at 10am.
