Erma Ralston

Ralston, Erma Erma passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the age of 86. She was born on March 26, 1930 in Grosse Pointe, MI the daughter of the late Wilfred and Florence (Loughead) Hocking. Erma worked as a Registered Nurse at Western Michigan University for many years before retiring. She was a former member of Bethel Baptist Church and currently a member of Calvary Bible Church. On May 10, 1952 Erma married William H. Ralston who preceded her in death on December 20, 1990. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ruthanne Fraaza on August 10, 2004. Surviving are a daughter, Karen "Karie" (Ray) Sortman of Portage; a son, Brent (Dawn) Ralston of Lansing; a son-in-law, Gordon Fraaza of Kalamazoo; nine grandchildren, Christopher (Holly) Sortman, Beth (Brendan) Pool, David (Lara) Sortman, Rachel (Brodie) Hausch; James (Ashlee) Fraaza, Rebecca (Ben) Rutgers, Hannah (Justin) Johnson, Faith Ralston and Jenna Ralston; and sixteen great-grandchildren. Private burial services were held on Saturday November 26th, with Dr. John Barnett officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial to Youth for Christ or the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
