Our beloved Elsie Viola (Payton) Brents left this earth for her mansion in Heaven on Monday, March 16, 2015. She was born on February 13, 1928 in Chaonia, Missouri. Elsie spent her whole life bringing joy and taking care of others.

Elsie was preceded in death by husband of 44 years, Quinton, son, Floyd Brents and a daughter, Sandy Brents. She leaves behind a son Michael, daughter-in-law Denise Brents. Her grandchildren; Dawn and David Craycraft, Tom and Debi Brents, Jody and Bruce Degraves, Melissa and Dave Garcia, Heather Brents, Kaity Brents and Matthew Brents. Elsie’s great grandchildren; Megan and Ben Walburg, David Craycraft, Jacob and Luke Brents, Madison and Alex Degraves, Jordan and Ethan Garcia. Her brother Herbert Payton and daughters-in-law, Janice Brents and Roxanne Brents and many nieces and nephews.

Elsie’s words of comfort to her loved ones left behind:

Miss me, but let me go. When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me, I want no rights in a gloom filled room. Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not too long and not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we shared for this is a journey that we all must take and each must go alone. It’s all a part of the Master’s plan; A step on the road home. When you are lonely and sick at heart, go to the friends we know and bury your sorrows in doing good deeds. Miss me, but let me go.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11:00 AM at Lakeshore Church of Christ, 711 Butternut Dr., Holland with Pastor Mike Scholten officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

Friends may call on the family Friday, 6PM to 8PM at the Northwood Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, 295 Douglas Ave. Holland.

Memorial gifts may be given to Hospice of Holland.
