Elizabeth Kovach- Heller

Elizabeth Margaret Kovach Muir Heller, 91 years old

November 18, 1923 - August 20, 2015

She was the mother of six living children: Helen R. Sampson (Wayne), Theresa M. Droblyn Byrd James (Thomas), Lee J. Muir (Sue), Michael P. Muir, Joseph A. Muir, Steven A. Muir and is also survived by 42 additional descendants.

She had been employed by the former Topps Department Store, in Portage MI, and rose to the position of Manager. Later, she worked at the Kalamazoo State Hospital as a Psychiatric Attendant and became a hospital supervisor.

A lifelong Catholic she had been a member of St. Joseph Church in Kalamazoo, St. Monica Church in Portage, and St. Martins Church in Vicksburg, MI at successive times in life.

After her children were grown, she devoted her life to the Lord's service as Lay Minister of the Eucharist, Sacristan, and making baby quilts for orphanages world-wide, and for babies with Aids in Russia.

She became a Professed Franciscan of the Divine Providence Fraternity on June 6, 1989 with the Reverend Robert Creagan presiding.

The visitation will be from 9:00 am - 11:00 am on Friday, August 28, 2015 at St. Joseph Church (936 Lake Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49001), followed by a Scriptural Rosary and Funeral Mass. Internment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Kalamazoo, MI.
