Eleanor Guillaumin

Eleanor Guillaumin of Kalamazoo, MI took her next journey to be with our Almighty Lord on December 30, 2017 at her daughter's home in Arizona at the age of 92. Eleanor was born in Chicago, IL on November 7, 1925 to the late Louis and Mary Garcia of Bangor, MI. On November 16, 1946 she was united in marriage to George Guillaumin and were married for 63 years. They raised their 3 children in Portage, MI where they were long time members of St. Catherine of Siena Church. She worked at Consumer Power for 19 years before retiring. Eleanor and her husband spent many winters in Arizona where they spent time dancing and playing cards with friends. She enjoyed gardening when in Michigan and spending time with her family. Her great-grandchildren were her greatest pride and joy. Eleanor's husband George preceded her in death in 2010. Her 4 sisters Carmen, Marge, Delores and Theresa also preceded her in death. She is survived by 2 sons; Ron(Susann) Guillaumin, Ken Guillaumin both of Colorado and her daughter Nancy(Mark) Smith of Arizona. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren; Ron Guillaumin, Chad(Donelle) Guillaumin, Briana(Sean) Allen and Alissa(Clint) Sumner. There are 7 adoring great-grandchildren; Matthew, David, Jacob Guillaumin, Gabrielle, Isabelle Sumner and Kayden, Kanyen Allen. In accordance with Eleanor's wishes her body was cremated and will be buried with her husband at a later date. A mass and Celebration of Life will be held this summer with a notice in the Kalamazoo Gazette stating the location, date and time.
