Edwin H. Bauer, age 93, passed away Monday, May 11, 2015 at his home. Edwin was born in Aniwa, WI on August 23, 1921, son of the late Ludwig and Bertha (nee: Suess) Bauer.

During World War II, Edwin proudly served in the U.S. Army stationed in the Pacific. On May 26, 1951 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Galazanski. They shared fifty four beautiful years together before Evelyn passed away on June 27, 2005. He was employed with Racine Unified for over twenty years until his retirement in 1983. Edwin was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and former member of the Holy Name Society.

Above all, he was a loving father and grandfather.

He will be dearly missed by his sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald (Kathy) Bauer of Raleigh, NC, Randy (Becky) Bauer Franksville; three grandchildren, Abigail, Laura and Jenny; brother, Ludwig (Christine) Bauer of Antigo; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Edwin was also preceded in death by his brothers, Peter, Vernon, and Bill, and sisters, Mildred Gilmore, Marcella Baneck and Rose Blyton.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave, on Saturday May 16, 2015, 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Robert C. Kacalo officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Private interment with Full Military Honors will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover. Memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic Church have been suggested.
