Walters, Edward Earl Edward Earl Walters, age 82, of Schoolcraft passed away on Sunday, June 27th in Schoolcraft, Michigan. He was born in Allegan, MI on July 31st, 1938 to Earl Aaron Walters and Dorothy Isabelle Sadler. On August 15, 1956, Ed married his best friend and love of his life, Joyce Elaine Clark. Ed and Joyce had 64 wonderful years of marriage with one son and two daughters until her passing in 2021. Ed worked his way up in the in the grocery business. He started as a bag boy in the Allegan Hardings and proceeded through the produce department and then management with Hardings. He later bought his first grocery store with his partner Mel Beland and it grew to 5 stores at one time. Ed enjoyed golfing, but when asked by Mel Harding how his game was he was hesitant. Mel said that a good golf score meant you weren't doing your job. Many family weekends were spent camping at Holland State Park and enjoying many family outings at the lake in Colon. Ed always wanted a home on the beach in Holland or South Haven. Instead he and his wife Joyce bought a beautiful winter villa in Ft. Myers, Florida. Ed and Joyce loved going to casinos here in Michigan with brother Bob or Florida with daughter Debbie. Ed was preceded in death by parents Earl and Isabelle (Sadler) Walters, brother Donald Walters, sister Margaret (Walters) Eberhard and son Daniel Ray Walters. Surviving to cherish his memory is daughter Susan (Michael) Trump, grandson Daniel (Caitlin) Trump, great-grandson Leon; granddaughter Carla (Gregory) Belanger, great-grandson Henry and daughter Deborah (Greg Doty) Walters, step grandson Avery and step granddaughter Kaelyn; three brothers, one sister and many nieces and nephews. You were a strong presence in your family and you will be remembered and missed until we meet again. Our rock that always had our backs. Memorial donations may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan, 7710 Stadium Drive, Kalamazoo, MI 49009 Visitation will be held Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 6-8:00 PM, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 411 E Centre Ave, Portage, MI 49002. Funeral services will be Friday, July 2, 2021, at 1:30 PM at the funeral home, followed by a committal service at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South. A Celebration of Life will be held following the services from 4:00-7:30 PM at the family home at 7259 WS Avenue, Schoolcraft, MI 49087.
