Edward Wallace

Edward F. Wallace, age 55, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away unexpectedly on Friday evening, November 25, 2016. He was born on February 23, 1961 in Syracuse, NY to Frank and Myrna (Rose) Wallace. Ed worked in the paper industry for 20 years and was currently employed by Denso Industries as a production planner. Ed proudly celebrated many years of sobriety and was very active in the recovery community. He initiated and organized a recovery fundraiser called the Kalastar Recovery Classic for three consecutive years. The Recovery Classic featured a fun, sober golf event for individuals in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction along with friends and families. Ed was an avid reader and a sports enthusiast. He enjoyed traveling, trivia and spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife: Sandy; two children: Alana Wallace and Chris Wallace (Britta) both of Grand Rapids; grandson: Kian Wallace; expected grandson: Jack Henry Wallace; parents: Frank and Myrna Wallace; siblings: Tom Wallace (Nancy), Kate Smith-Haas (Jim) and John Wallace. A funeral service to celebrate Ed's life will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, where friends may visit with his family from 10am until the time of service. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Gilmore Community Healing Center or National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
