Life Story / Obituary

Print

Edward (Eddie) John-Dron Tillitson, 54, died unexpectedly on January 10, 2019 at his home.

He was born on November 19, 1964 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Edward Dron Tillitson and the late Elizabeth Janet Mellin.

Eddie attended Michigan State University and Northwestern Michigan Community College receiving a bachelor’s degree in automotive technology. His passion for cars allowed him to provide a wonderful life for his family while fulfilling his true joy.

After six years of courtship, he married the love of his life, Sherry on June 1, 1996. It was then that he inherited his three wonderful kids, Melissa (Brandon) Gerling, Russell (Ranee) Pensyl and Sarah (Patrick) Cergnul.

He is survived by his wife and children, his father Edward Dron Tillitson, eight grandchildren: Jared, Rebecca, Anthony, Allison, Madison, Abrielle, Lukas, Steven, one great-grandchild Leo; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Janet Mellin.

In his free time, he enjoyed motorcycle rides with his friend, Red, reading anything about cars, mechanics or anything with horsepower. His true calling in life was sharing his knowledge with his grandkids, making them laugh and watching them do everything they love. Papa was their biggest fan and never missed a game or match.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Family for the Grandchildren’s College Fund.

Please sign the guestbook and share your thoughts and memories with the family.
